the last hours
2007, three 3-channel-video, colour, sound, ca. 10 Min. in each case.

"The last hours" confronts the recipient with three videos in which nothing seems to
happen. In two of them you see a window that, although it seems to be quite late,
is still illuminated. The third shows a view which could be the view you get from one
of the windows. In fast motion day turns into night. With the earphones attached
above the monitors you can engage in the three monologues. Their intimate thoughts
and experiences circle in sudden crisis around loneliness and the dark side of man.
The work is a realization of three texts for theatre composed by me.

TV-table
2006, Installation

An everyday situation. A laid table, three places. Instead of soup bowls three TVs
whose pictures look upwards. They originate from the seventies and call forth the
memory of the past as do the chairs and tablecloth. The TVs show newscasts from the
eighties in fast editing sequence. The sound track is highly alienated.
Instead of food newscasts are served here. This work is concerned with the medium
television in the global world, which is so deeply ingrained into our everyday life
that its omnipresence no longer is apprehended – no matter how unsavoury or
indigestive its message can be. The work takes up memories of the own childhood and
combines them playfully with quotations from the history of video art.

felis 20 mg.
2006, Installation

Originated within the scope of the project “Transaktion 1554” - a corporate
project of the Staatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart and of the
institute of art education of the University Frankfurt. The outcome of the project was
the anonymous passing on of material and ideas. The place of transfer of the first
approaches: a locker at Hauptbahnhof Frankfurt. Felis 20 mg. poses in a ironical way
the question of fortune in a society that can produce happiness chemically. It is
scientific lab and sweet promise of bliss, produced serially and in high gloss.
